Customize your orb

Make the orb look the way you want — from a one-click palette to hand-tuned parameters. Everything here is in Settings → Orb. For what each control does, see the Orb reference.

Quick: pick a variant and palette

  1. Open Settings → Orb.
  2. Variant — choose a rendering style (Fractal, Crystal, Galaxy, …). The orb changes immediately.
  3. Palette — choose a colour scheme for that variant. Want it on-brand? Pick ProtoLabs (the lavender→indigo brand palette, on every variant).

That's enough for most people. Read on to fine-tune.

Fine-tune the look

Below the palette, the variant's parameters are grouped into collapsible sections — Color, Energy, Motion, and variant-specific controls. Drag a slider and the orb updates live:

  • Color — primary and secondary energy colours.
  • Energy — density, glow, halo thickness/scale.
  • Motion — internal speed, rotation, animation speed.

Feeling stuck? Randomize

Hit Randomize to roll a fresh set of parameters for inspiration, then tweak from there. It won't touch your resolution setting.

Tune a specific state

The orb can look different while it's listening, thinking, or speaking. To adjust one of those without changing the base look, switch the authoring context from Base to the state you want, then edit — you're now editing that state's overrides.

Save it as a preset

Happy with it? Save it as a named preset (scoped to the current variant) so you can come back to it. Switch variants and your presets for each are kept separately.

If the orb feels heavy

Some variants are GPU-intensive. Lower Resolution (DPR) in the orb's perf controls to trade a little crispness for smoother motion and lower power use.
